Army – A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC)

This course covers the syllabus set out by the UK Civil Aviation Authority for the A2 Certificate of Competency qualification. This qualification is accepted by the Military Aviation Authority for you to fly for the Army in the A1 and A3 Subcategories (you will learn about this in the course). 

The main objective of this course is to ensure that you understand how to safely fly your Unmanned Aircraft (referred to as RPAS in the military world) close to uninvolved persons. The A2 CofC course will give you an understanding of the technical and operational mitigations for ground risk, i.e. the risk of a person being struck by the unmanned aircraft.

When you complete a topic you will be able to move on to the next one. At the end of each lesson, there is a quiz which will help prepare you for the formal examination. You will not be able to take the quiz until you have completed all the topics in the lesson. You are able to take the quiz as often as you like. Once you have completed all three theory lessons you can take the mock exam as often as you wish. When you are able to achieve a score of around 80% or more in the mock exam you should be ready to take the formal A2 CofC examination online.
