The GVC is a remote pilot competency certificate which provides a single qualification that is suitable for VLOS operations within the Specific category. The full course includes a flight competency assessment. This transition course is ONLY the theory element. We are able to exempt you from the GVC flight assessment provided that we can verify that you meet the following conditions:
- You have a Certificate of Recommendation issued by the NQE you did your PfCO course with. If you completed your PfCO with EuroUSC we can accept the certificate they issued confirming that you completed the BNUC-S course.
- Your pilot logbook for the six months preceding the issue of the GVC shows that you are current (120 minutes of flight in the preceding 3 months) and that you have been flying operationally reasonably regularly over the six month period.
- That you are a ‘named remote pilot’ flying under a current CAA Operational Authorisation.
On successful completion you will be issued the GVC certificate. This will enable you to continue acting as remote pilot in the Specific Category after the 31st December 2023.

Quizzes and the formal theory examination
At the end of each lesson, there is a quiz which will help prepare you for the formal examination. You can take these quizzes as often as you like. Once you have covered the whole syllabus you can take a mock exam. This may be taken twice. When you feel ready you submit a request to take the formal GVC examination online.
